One of America’s largest exports for years has been entertainment content. Films, music videos, sports broadcasts, and even social media content from providers such as YouTube and Twitch are solid opportunities for aspiring young filmmakers. The Caddo Film Institute provides an entry point for young creators to get started in an exciting and rewarding career as a content creator.
COURSES INCLUDE TRAINING FOR ADOBE INDESIGN, PREMIERE, AND AFTER EFFECTS.
MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS (INTRO COURSE) - LEVEL 1
The purpose of this course is to assist students in making informed decisions regarding their future academic and occupational goals and to provide information regarding careers in the Arts, A/V Technology, and Communication Career Cluster. The content includes but is not limited to, technology literacy; understanding the importance of Arts and A/V; understanding the role of science, math, reading, writing, history, and technology in Arts and A/V; and Digital Media. Reinforcement of academic skills occurs through classroom instruction and applied laboratory procedures. Instruction and learning activities are provided through theory and hands-on experiences with the equipment, materials, and technology appropriate to the course content and in accordance with current practice
AV PRODUCTION I - LEVEL 2 -
This course will include a comprehensive introduction to basic film and video production techniques and equipment. Proper procedures are explained for the use of digital and film cameras, filters, lights, microphones, audio equipment, editing systems, and other motion picture equipment. Attention is also given to production planning and post-production. Student focus is on filmmaking, social media, advertising, and documentaries.
AV PRODUCTION II - LEVEL 3 -
This course will incorporate extensive production experience to aid students in proficiency in the use of film and video production techniques and equipment. Proper procedures are explained for the use of digital and film cameras, filters, lights, microphones, audio equipment, editing systems, and other motion picture equipment. Attention is also given to production planning and post-production. Student focus is on special effects using Adobe After Effects and Premiere. Students will compete in local and state film contests with a wide range of video projects.
AV PRODUCTION LAB - LEVEL 3 -
Lab time set aside for CFI students to work on products pertaining to AV Tech and Film classes
WARRIOR YEARBOOK/MEDIA TEAM -
This course is for yearbook and media specialists. This team of students meets during this time to create Caddo Academy’s yearbook, social media, and other promotional materials for the school’s needs. This is an honorary position and placement must be approved by staff and admin. Responsibilities include Warrior Yearbook, weekly announcement programs and news shows, various social media videos, and photography for the school.
